REPORT: NEOEA REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY
NOVEMBER 4, 2006
MENTOR HIGH SCHOOL
NEOEA's Representative Assembly held its fall meeting at Mentor
High School on Saturday, November 4. Delegates enacted resolutions for
2006-07, recognized award recipients, elected members to four positions
on the Association's Executive Committee, and endorsed candidates
for two OEA offices to be filled in the spring.
Participating in a "scavenger hunt" activity organized by
NEOEA's Legislative Committee, delegates donated $3,800 to OEA's
Fund for Children and Public Education.
Delegates passed the NEOEA Resolutions for 2006-07. The newly-enacted
document includes 143 statements which set forth Association policy on
a wide variety of topics. Delegates enacted language in Resolutions C-6
and C-18 calling for stricter licensing of student transportation employees
and providers of health, social, and psychological services. Delegates
approved new resolution B-26, "Metric System/International System
of Units."
Delegates honored winners of three categories of NEOEA awards.
The Public Relations Committee recognized
winning entries in the 2005-06 Newsletter Awards.

Delegates endorsed Nanci DiBianca (Cuyahoga Heights Assn. of Teachers)
for election as Ohio NEA Director #3 and Patricia Frost-Brooks (East Cleveland
EA) for election as OEA President. These were early endorsements: elections
for these positions will be held at the OEA Representative Assembly’s
spring meeting.
Delegates elected Unit Representatives to fill vacancies in five electoral
units:
Unit 5 OEA/NEOEA Representative: Richard L. King, Howland Classroom
TA;
Unit 6 NEOEA Representative: Tom Moscovic, Willoughby-Eastlake
TA;
Unit 6 OEA/NEOEA Representative: Patrick J. Snee, Mentor TA;

The NEOEA Representative Assembly meets again on March 24, 2007, at a
location to be determined.
