Member Lobby Day
Member Lobby Day on Tuesday, June 11, provides an opportunity for OEA members and other members of the public education community to collectively lobby the Ohio General Assembly about issues that are important to public education, education employees, and the learners we serve.
Whether you ride with us or drive yourself, participation involves a few basic steps.
- Make a bus reservation with NEOEA or call OEA Governmental Services at 800/282-1500.
- Call a legislator (or several) to make an appointment (suggestion: not earlier than 10:00 a.m.). NEOEA’s bus will leave Columbus at about 1:00 p.m.
- The briefings start at 9:00 a.m. and are provided at the OEA building, 225 East Broad Street, in Columbus.
You are, of course, free to drive yourself or to car-pool. However, NEOEA will provide free bus transportation from pickup points in Garfield Heights and Burbank, with free refreshments on the return bus.
Participants with bus reservations will receive confirmations, directions to the pickup points, and information about setting up appointments with legislators.
