Introduction to Restorative Practices and Using Circles Effectively

Learn about the social science of Restorative Practices at this OEA Professional Learning Seminar. Through the use of the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) Continuum, participants will learn techniques for building social capital, resolving social problems, and responding when harm occurs. The seminar will engage participants while using a restorative framework in conversations around race, class, ethnicity, and culture. Specifically, participants will consider who they discipline, why they discipline in school settings, and how to strengthen the relationships and social connections between the individuals in communities and schools.

Training will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, and will conclude at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the NEOEA office, 6001 Landerhaven Drive, Suite D, in Mayfield Heights. You must be able to attend both days to be accepted to the OEA Professional Learning Seminar. Due to space concerns, this training is limited to 25 NEOEA members.
